Profhilo sits in a category of one. It does not add volume, it does not fill lines, yet patients consistently describe the result as the most natural rejuvenation they have ever had. Here is why.
When patients across Weybridge and Surrey ask us which treatment we would choose for ourselves in our forties, the honest answer, most of the time, is Profhilo. It is one of the few products in modern aesthetics that has earned the praise it receives, and it is also one of the most consistently misunderstood. It is not a dermal filler. It is not a skin booster. It is something quieter, and something better.
Profhilo is a stabilised gel of pure hyaluronic acid in unusually high concentration, 64mg in a 2ml syringe. Once placed under the skin in five precise points per side of the face, it slowly diffuses through the tissue and triggers what dermatologists call bio-stimulation: a measurable increase in your own collagen and elastin production. The result is not added volume. It is improved skin quality: firmer, more hydrated, more luminous, more like itself a decade earlier.
The treatment protocol is straightforward. Two sessions, four weeks apart, with a maintenance session every six to nine months for most patients. There is no downtime worth speaking of. Patients often book a Profhilo session over a lunch hour and return to work with nothing more visible than five small bumps that resolve within hours.
Where Profhilo shines is on skin that has lost laxity but not volume. Crepey décolletage. The thinning skin on the back of the hands. The general 'flatness' that begins to show on the cheeks in the late thirties and forties. It is also one of the few injectables we feel completely comfortable offering to patients who want to start preventatively, in their early thirties, before structural ageing has set in.
What it will not do is fill nasolabial folds, restore midface volume, or sculpt a jawline. Those are jobs for dermal fillers, and confusion between the two categories is the single most common cause of disappointment we see in patients who have had Profhilo at another clinic. A good consultation in Weybridge, or anywhere, should make that distinction crystal clear before any product is opened.
If we had to summarise Profhilo in a sentence: it is the rejuvenation that everyone notices and nobody can name. Which, in the end, is the only kind worth having.
